What experience do you have?
I have been shooting since the age of 16. After receiving a holiday bonus at one of my first jobs - the biggest paycheck I had ever seen, I utilized it all to purchase a Nikon F5 Camera and complete haul of Nikon Lenses. That was 30 years ago and I still have that camera. I then self taught and spent every moment with that camera on it's strap slung around my shoulder. While in High School I joined the New York Institute of Photography, and took a job as Apprentice Photographer at Associated Press, various trade magazines and local newspapers. After high school I went to Academy of Art University in San Francisco where I studied Film Making: Cinematography, Photography, Editing, Visual Effects, and Acting.
Do you have a second photographer?
I do utilize a second photographer. On your most important day it is important to capture as many moments as possible for your collection. A second photographer brings a different photographic artistry that will add so much worth. There are two of you, There are two of us. When the wedding is over and you review your day, it's too late to go back and get more photographs of things you are light on. We want to try to make sure your gallery tells the full story. Consider: Bride Preparations, Groom Preparations, each of your interactions with the guests, each of you during your vows/ceremony. This is something that a single photographer cannot account for.
How many photos do we get?
While we look to take as many photographs as possible. The goal is to provide the best photographs, of every moment. It's wholly inadequate if the photography does not include what's important. So the total image count is sort of the wrong thing to focus on... it's the quality of the coverage that matters. We aim to deliver a minimum of 700-1200 images, although we will take in total 2000-4000 images, depending on the number of guests, what proceedings are taking place, and length of day.
Do you offer video of the wedding?
We do offer videography as an option to all weddings. We never had a client say, "I wish I didn't upgrade to get video". It's a great way to look back at your day and see your day in "motion". Your videography is professionally edited with audio of the wedding and a music score to make you fall in love with your day over and over again.
How will I receive the images & can I get prints?
You will receive your high resolution images in an online gallery for you and your family/friends to view, and/or via USB Drive (depending on the number of images). We offer any number of prints in many sizes a la carte, please inquire to order these. Some wedding packages include prints. *See "Investment" page.
Do you give me RAW unedited Images?
We don't provide RAW images. Editing is a component of our service and we take a lot of care with your photo collection to make sure the images you receive are breathtaking. We do not do major body manipulation edits.
Do you recommend doing an engagement, bridal or groomal session?
Absolutely, this is a great opportunity to capture the two of you in an intimate moment without the lively ambience of your wedding guests. To take some photos in your normal clothes on a more relaxed day. Once upon a time people used to have their engagement photos listed in the local newspaper, this is a throwback to that albeit most likely now through your social media channels. This is also an opportunity to get comfortable with your photographer.
Is this your full time job?
This is my full time job. I have 3 commitments. My wife, my daughter, and you.
Do I need to provide a meal for you?
I do tend to get hungry, and can confidently say that I shoot better photography if my hunger is pacified. We will be spending hours upon hours with you and certainly expect to eat. I ask for myself & the second photographer to be provided the same meal as the guests. We do not require any special seating as we can take our meal away from the festivities. If a guest meal is not provided, we will travel to get a meal.
What is your turnaround time?
-Approximately one week after wedding you will receive a small preview of your wedding day right to your phone.
-Approximately 30 days after your wedding we will deliver a 10 image preview of your wedding, and for video packages will deliver a 15-30 second preview.
-Approximately 6-8 weeks after your wedding you will receive your full wedding photography package.
What if there is bad weather or need to reschedule?
In the event of bad weather we will continue our existing shooting date or create a back up plan with you. Rain can provide some great imagery such as drama and mystery. It however requires special planning and equipment. You may prefer it not to rain on your wedding day and wish to convert your exterior wedding to an interior wedding or reschedule, no worries. We will work with you.
In the event of a reschedule, there is a small rescheduling fee if the date is within six months of the original date. If the date is beyond six months, a new retainer fee will be required. If you cancel, your retainer is the cancellation fee.
How do we schedule?
I'm excited to have this pleasure to be assigned to your wedding. We will start with a 30% retainer fee and sign the assignment agreement [contract] to secure your scheduled date. We will then coordinate with each other to communicate timelines and next steps.
What payment method may we use?
I accept Cash, Check, Wire Transfer, and Card Payments; Visa, MC, AMEX, Discover. (3% discount provided if you use cash/check/wire transfer method).
